Silifke, Administrative district in Mersin Province, Turkey
The town extends along the Mediterranean coast at the mouth of the Göksu River, surrounded by the Taurus Mountains and fertile agricultural lands.
Founded as Seleucia ad Calycadnum in the 3rd century BC by Seleucus I Nicator, the town developed into a major Mediterranean port and commercial center.
The Silifke Yoghurt Festival in May celebrates local dairy traditions with music performances, food exhibitions, and regional craft demonstrations.
