Bulanık, Administrative district in Muş Province, Turkey
Bulanık is an administrative district in Muş Province, Turkey, located at the northeastern foot of the Bilican Mountains. The region encompasses both flat plains and mountainous terrain, with the Akdoğan Mountains forming its northern boundary.
The district was established as part of Turkey's modern administrative system dividing the country into provinces and districts. This structure emerged following the founding of the Turkish Republic in the early 20th century.
The district maintains seven municipalities including Bulanık, Elmakaya, Erentepe, Rüstemgedik, Sarıpınar, Uzgörür, and Yoncalı, each contributing to regional governance.
The district is accessible by road connections to the provincial capital Muş and serves as a gateway to the surrounding mountains and plains. The best time to explore is outside winter months when weather conditions are more stable.
The Bulanık Plain is home to a small population of Demoiselle cranes, a rare crane species. These birds are known for their graceful movements and migration patterns, making this location of interest to birdwatchers.
