Tortum Waterfall

The Tortum Waterfall cascades down limestone formations from a height of 48 meters, creating a powerful stream of water across its 22-meter width.

The waterfall emerged through geological processes millions of years ago, forming when ancient tectonic movements created the steep cliff faces of the Tev Valley.

The waterfall serves as a central gathering place for local inhabitants who maintain traditions of celebrating seasonal festivals and community gatherings near its base.

Visitors can access viewing platforms and picnic areas from April through October, with the most substantial water flow occurring during the spring snowmelt period.

The falling waters create a natural phenomenon where a rainbow frequently appears at the top while a deep plunge pool forms at the base of the falls.
