Aybastı, District capital in Ordu Province, Turkey
Located 54 kilometers inland from the Black Sea coast, Aybastı sits at 764 meters elevation within the Canik Mountains of northern Turkey.
The settlement carried the Greek name Ibasdi until the 20th century, when it transformed into its current designation of Aybastı.
The twenty-one neighborhoods of Aybastı maintain traditional practices, including early marriages and strong connections with families working in larger cities.
The district contains 192 square kilometers of meadow and 116 square kilometers of farmland, supporting agricultural activities and beekeeping operations.
The Perşembe Plateau near Aybastı features geographical meanders that appear in Turkish academic textbooks as primary examples of this formation.
