Halkalı Transfer Center is a railway station in Küçükçekmece with four island platforms and eight tracks. The facility serves intercity, commuter, and international train routes throughout Istanbul.
The station began operations in 1872 and underwent major renovations in 1955 and 2019. These modernizations allowed the facility to adapt to Istanbul's growing transportation demands.
The transfer center links different neighborhoods across Istanbul by connecting the European and Asian sides through the Marmaray line. Travelers use this place to move between various parts of the city.
The station is located about 27 kilometers from Istanbul Sirkeci Terminal and offers regional train services to destinations like Edirne, Uzunköprü, and Çerkezköy. Passengers also find international connections to Sofia here.
The station houses a container terminal for freight trains to Europe while operating electrified tracks at 25 kV AC. This allows both passenger and cargo operations to function at the same location.
