Eghegnamor monastery, Medieval monastery ruins in Kağızman, Turkey
The stone church building stands prominently in Çengilli village, featuring substantial medieval architecture against the backdrop of surrounding residential structures.
The monastery, constructed in 1001, belonged to the Mamikonian family before becoming part of the Bagratid territory during the 9th century transformation.
The structure carries the name Eghegnamor, meaning 'reedy place' in Armenian, while its current Turkish name Çengilli refers to the village of the bell tower.
Visitors can reach the monastery site from the town of Kağızman, which serves as the primary access point for exploring this historical structure.
The building now functions as a communal agricultural storage facility for the local Kurdish community, who settled in the area after 1920.
