Çakıroğlu İsmail Ağa Konağı, Ottoman mansion in Of, Turkey
The Çakıroğlu İsmail Ağa Konağı spans 529 square meters and features pink sandstone construction with three floors on its southern section.
Built in 1805, the mansion served as a refuge for Tuzcuoğlu Memiş Ağa during the regional conflicts between prominent families in 1817.
The mansion includes specific rooms for different purposes, including guest reception areas, an armory, and separate living quarters following Ottoman residential traditions.
Located on a hill with sea views, the building contains multiple entrances on its western and eastern sides, plus a dedicated horse gate.
During World War I, Russian warships fired upon the mansion, leaving visible marks on its stone walls that remain to this day.
