Kaymaklı Monastery, Armenian Apostolic monastery ruins on Boztepe hill, Ortahisar, Turkey
The monastery complex includes a rectangular church with three naves, three apses, and a small chapel situated near the southeast corner of the site.
The monastery served as the seat of the Trebizond diocese until 1915, when it became a transit camp for Armenians being deported to Syria.
The interior walls display frescoes from the 17th and 18th centuries, including a large Last Judgment scene on the west wall.
The monastery sits three kilometers from Trabzon, requiring visitors to arrange transportation by taxi due to limited public transit options.
The chapel walls incorporate ancient Armenian stone crosses known as khachkars, with the oldest structure on site dating back to 1424.
