Museum of Woodworking

The Museum of Woodworking in Odunpazarı houses around 160 wooden objects, including sculptures, tools, and furniture pieces that demonstrate various crafting techniques. The exhibits are displayed within the Kurşunlu Mosque Complex and showcase the range of possibilities in woodworking.

The museum originated from an international wood carving festival where artists created works on the theme of Voice of the Wood. After opening in 2016 at Ceramic Park, it was relocated to its current location in 2017.

The collection shows works from international woodworking festivals, presenting different methods and traditions from craftsmen around the world. You can see how various cultures have developed their own styles and techniques in working with wood.

The museum is located in the Odunpazarı neighborhood and is easy to reach on foot if you are exploring the area. It is best to visit during daytime hours to see the wooden works clearly in natural light.

The collection comes from an artist festival where craftspeople specifically created new works around a particular theme rather than gathering older pieces. This makes the exhibits special because they all share the same conceptual origin.
