Museum of Modern Glass Art, Eskişehir, Glass art museum in Odunpazarı, Turkey
The Museum of Modern Glass Art in Odunpazarı displays about 125 works by 58 domestic and 10 international artists across two floors arranged around a central courtyard. The space combines permanent collections with rotating exhibitions from emerging artists, along with a glass workshop and performance hall.
The museum was established in December 2007 through the renovation of three historic houses in the neighborhood. This made it the first institution in Turkey dedicated entirely to contemporary glass art.
The museum displays works from artists across Japan, Poland, Latvia, and Germany, each bringing different techniques and approaches to glass creation. You can see how artists from different regions interpret and work with glass in their own way.
The layout is easy to navigate since all spaces are arranged around the central courtyard. Plan your visit to include time for exploring both the galleries and checking if any workshops or events are happening during your time there.
Plans are underway to expand the museum with a specialized library and archive center focused on glass art research and education. This future addition would make it a more complete hub for learning about this craft.
