Kinmen National Park, National park in Kinmen, Taiwan
Kinmen National Park is a protected zone across multiple coastal segments and Taiwushan mountain on Kinmen Island in Taiwan. It covers forests, beaches, and rocky shorelines spread over a wide area.
After martial law ended on Kinmen, the reserve was founded in October 1995. The government assigned its management to an agency responsible for protecting the landscape.
Old settlements within the reserve display timber-frame houses with tile roofs, built in the traditional island style. Visitors walk through narrow lanes and see how these structures remain part of daily village life.
After arriving at Kinmen Airport, visitors take island buses to reach park entry points. Main paths are most comfortable during autumn and spring when sun and wind are less intense.
More than three hundred bird species pause here between autumn and spring during long migrations. Birdwatchers from different countries come to observe rare travelers seldom seen elsewhere.
