Chien Tan Overseas Youth Activity Center, Youth activity center in Shilin District, Taipei, Taiwan.
Chien Tan Overseas Youth Activity Center is a group accommodation facility in the Shilin district of Taipei, situated along the Keelung River. The complex brings together a traditional-style courtyard building and several modern towers that hold sleeping rooms, dining halls, classrooms, and open spaces for gatherings.
The center opened in 2016 and was designed from the start as a base for school groups and youth organizations visiting Taipei. Its creation responded to a growing need for organized accommodation for educational travel in the city.
The main building follows the siheyuan courtyard style, which gives the complex a layout rarely seen in a modern group accommodation. From the upper floors of the towers, visitors can look out toward Guanyin Mountain on the horizon.
Jiantan Metro Station is a short walk away, making the site easy to reach by public transport. On-site parking is also available, which helps for groups arriving by coach.
The center does not use single-use plastics or bottled water anywhere on the premises, which is rare for a facility that hosts hundreds of guests at a time. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own bottles, as water refill stations are available throughout the site.
