Huajiang Bridge, Road bridge in Banqiao District, Taiwan
Huajiang Bridge is a multi-lane road bridge over the Xindian River in northwestern Taiwan, linking Pingxi Road in Taipei City with Wenhua Road in Banqiao. It carries both vehicles and pedestrians and forms one of the direct crossings between these two urban areas.
The bridge opened in October 1968 and was at that time one of the few direct crossings between Taipei and the Banqiao area. Its completion helped speed up urban growth on both sides of the river in the following decades.
The bridge crosses the Xindian River and connects residential neighborhoods on both banks, where local markets and temples are within easy walking distance. Pedestrians use it daily to move between the two sides of the river as part of their ordinary routines.
Several bus lines cross the bridge, making it easy to travel between Taipei and Banqiao without a personal vehicle. Pedestrians can also cross on foot using a dedicated walkway along the side of the bridge.
The bridge gives direct access to the ShuangYuan and Huazhong Riverside Parks, which sit on either side of the river at its ends. This makes the crossing a convenient starting point for a walk along the riverbank rather than just a transit route.
