漯底山, Natural mountain park in Mituo District, Taiwan
Luodi Mountain is a natural park in Mituo District that rises gently from the surrounding flatlands with modest height. Walking paths wind through the site, allowing visitors to explore the eroded terrain and reach viewpoints that overlook the coastal plain.
The site served as a military restricted zone until 2006, when civilian management began and it was opened to visitors as a natural park. This transition allowed public access to the landscape for recreation and exploration.
The mountain features mudstone geology with two small mud vents in its central peak, reflecting the natural characteristics of southern Taiwan's landscape.
The site has marked trails of varying difficulty levels suited to different fitness abilities. Visiting early in the morning or late afternoon is advisable, as the sun exposure is less intense and visibility is clearer.
The badland formations create striking gray-white earth formations where erosion has stripped away vegetation and left bare, layered soil visible from the paths. Small mud vents near the peak offer glimpses of active geological processes that still shape this landscape.
