Guanshanlingshan, Mountain summit in Yushan National Park, Taiwan
Guanshanlingshan is a mountain summit in the South Cross Mountains range standing at 3176 meters with a distinctive pyramid shape. It sits within Yushan National Park and provides hikers with relatively accessible access to a high-elevation vantage point in central Taiwan.
The summit became popular as a hiking destination after the South Cross Highway was constructed, with a tunnel running through the mountain's midsection. This road connection made reaching the peak much more practical for visitors to the region.
The mountain holds significance for the local Bunun indigenous people who maintain traditional connections with the natural environment of the region.
The hike to the summit takes around two hours along a path of about one kilometer, with permits required for entry into the national park. Visitors should confirm the permit requirements before arriving at the site.
A radio relay station for the Yushan Police Force sits at the summit, enabling communication services across the mountainous terrain. This installation serves as part of the region's operational infrastructure for monitoring and support.
