Tuniu Hakka Cultural Museum, Cultural museum in Shigang District, Taiwan.
The Tuniu Hakka Cultural Museum is a building in Shigang with several exhibition areas dedicated to Hakka history and culture. The complex combines a reception hall and additional spaces displaying historical items alongside videos and interactive displays.
The building was originally a Liu family residence that was destroyed in the 1999 earthquake. It was later rebuilt and opened as a museum in 2006.
The museum displays how the Hakka community in Taiwan lived and worked through everyday objects and festival items. Visitors see genuine tools, clothing, and household goods that offer direct insight into Hakka daily life and traditions.
The location is accessible by regular buses running from Fengyuan or Taichung Station to Shigang District. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes since the grounds have multiple building areas to explore.
The museum building preserves the original architecture of the Liu estate, which was once the largest residential compound in the region. This design reflects the building style of wealthy Hakka families from that era.
