Er-Lun Temple

Er-Lun Temple is a Taoist sanctuary in Zhuolan with multiple halls distributed across its grounds, each dedicated to different deities. Its exterior walls feature elaborate carved decorations typical of traditional Taiwanese temple architecture.

The sanctuary was established in 1923 when local communities across Miaoli County were building their religious infrastructure. Its creation marked a period when this region was strengthening and formalizing its spiritual centers.

This place serves as a gathering point for worshipping the Three Mountain Kings, with locals regularly performing traditional Taiwanese ceremonies throughout the year. Visitors can observe the daily spiritual life and see how the community maintains its religious customs and rituals here.

The sanctuary is accessible via Provincial Highway 3, which connects Zhuolan Township to nearby areas and provides clear transportation links. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes since exploring the various halls and grounds requires walking around the site.

The sanctuary houses a bell from the Showa period that plays a role in marking important moments during daily religious practices. This historical bell rings at key times in ceremonies, connecting the present with an earlier era.
