Synevyr National Nature Park, National nature park in Mizhhiria Raion, Ukraine
Synevyr National Nature Park is a large mountain reserve in the Transcarpathian region that includes the biggest mountain lake in Ukraine. The land covers mountains, forests, and wetlands spread across valleys and peaks of different elevations.
The reserve received protected status in 1974 to safeguard the mountain ecosystems of the region. It became a national park in 1989 and now ranks among Ukraine's most important nature protection areas.
The wood rafting museum displays tools and methods that mountain workers used for generations to transport timber through rivers. This collection keeps alive the memory of an important tradition that shaped how people worked in these forests.
The park has more than 130 kilometers of marked trails in different difficulty levels for various fitness levels. Routes lead to lakes, mountain peaks, and through forests, so visitors can choose based on their time and ability.
A brown bear rehabilitation center within the park cares for animals that previously lived in poor captivity conditions. Visitors can observe from a safe distance how these bears recover their natural behaviors.
