Belmont Courthouse State Historic Park

Belmont Courthouse is a two-story stone building constructed in the 1870s and situated in the mountains at about 7,400 feet elevation. The structure retains many of its original architectural features, and it has been partially restored to make it accessible for visitors.

The building was established in 1876 as the administrative center for Nye County and served as a judicial hub during silver mining operations. It functioned as the courthouse until 1905, when county government moved elsewhere.

The building was the center of Belmont, where judges and officials conducted the business of a mining community. Inside, you can still notice details that show how it served as a gathering place for important community matters.

You can explore the building freely without a guide, and parking is available nearby. The nearest campground with facilities is located about 20 miles north, so bring water and supplies before your visit.
