Leonard Harrison State Park, State park in Tioga County, United States.
Leonard Harrison State Park spans 585 acres on the eastern rim of Pine Creek Gorge, with hiking trails and observation platforms offering canyon views. The grounds include a visitor center, parking areas, and multiple viewpoints positioned along the canyon edge.
Leonard Harrison, a Pennsylvania businessman, donated 121 acres in 1922 to establish the park, which grew from his private tourist destination called The Lookout. The area has since expanded and became an important public recreation space.
The park features a gift shop selling items from regional artisans, which helps support local makers and conservation work in the area.
The park operates fully from April through October with a visitor center, parking, and trails of varying difficulty levels. Some sections include steep grades and many steps, so visitors should wear comfortable shoes and be in reasonable physical condition.
The Turkey Path trail is a demanding route that descends over 200 meters through steep canyon slopes, bringing hikers down to Pine Creek at the canyon floor. This connecting path links the upper observation platforms directly to river level, offering experienced hikers striking views in both directions.
