Lyman Run State Park

Lyman Run State Park is a forested recreation area in Potter County that centers around a 45-acre lake. Trails wind through northern hardwood forests where visitors can access the water and explore different sections of the park on foot.

The site served as a German prisoner camp during World War II before becoming a Civilian Conservation Corps work camp. Development of the park itself began in 1951 when the land was converted into a public recreation area.

Environmental educators conduct regular programs about watersheds and stream ecology, connecting visitors with the natural environment throughout all seasons.

The park offers powered campsites for RVs alongside walk-in tent camping areas with basic amenities like fire rings and picnic tables. Check on seasonal conditions before visiting, as weather can affect trail access and water activities around the lake.
