Black Forest Trail

The Black Forest Trail is a 43-mile hiking path through dense woodlands in Tiadaghton State Forest in Pennsylvania. It crosses numerous mountain streams, climbs steep sections, and offers multiple vista points over the forested terrain.

The name comes from dense hemlock trees that once covered the area and blocked sunlight from reaching the forest floor. Logging operations later transformed the woodland, shaping the forest landscape we see today.

Visitors come to experience a direct connection with the forest and its streams, following a route shaped by outdoor enthusiasts who care for its condition. The trail draws people seeking solitude and challenge among old growth woodland.
