Action Park

Action Park was a recreation complex in New Jersey divided into three main zones: Alpine Center with ski slope simulators, Motorworld with go-kart tracks, and Waterworld featuring water slides and swimming pools. The property combined water, motorized, and mountain-themed attractions in one sprawling location.

The facility opened in 1978 and quickly became the region's most visited summer destination. It closed in 1996 following a series of safety incidents that operators could no longer manage.

The large complex required considerable time to explore all three areas in a single day. Visitors needed comfortable shoes and should have planned for several hours to experience the various attractions.

The park's most famous water slide was the Cannonball Loop, featuring a complete vertical loop that operated for only one month. This bold engineering attempt was quickly discontinued after initial tests revealed the design's limitations.
