34th Street–Hudson Yards, Metro terminus in Hudson Yards, US

The 34th Street-Hudson Yards station is a subway terminus in Manhattan serving the IRT Flushing Line. The facility has two tracks with an island platform, multiple mezzanine levels, inclined elevators, air conditioning, and public restrooms to serve daily passengers.

The station opened in September 2015 as the first major subway expansion in western Manhattan since 1932. It was built as part of the larger Hudson Yards development that transformed the neighborhood into a new commercial and residential hub.

Artist Xenobia Bailey created large mosaic artworks on the station walls that feature bold circular patterns and vibrant colors throughout the space. These pieces transform the underground area into an art experience for everyday commuters passing through.

The station is well-equipped with elevators and multiple levels that make navigation straightforward for most visitors. Peak hours occur during morning and evening commutes, so visiting during midday or outside work hours offers a calmer experience.

Large glass canopies above the entrances along Hudson Boulevard allow daylight to filter down through multiple levels deep into the underground station. This unusual design feature creates a surprisingly bright environment for a subway station and distinguishes it from typical underground transit hubs.
