Arcade Hotel, Hotel structure in Springfield, United States.
The Arcade Hotel is a four-story structure in Springfield with a glass-covered atrium at its center. The Italianate design features symmetrical arrangements and detailed ornamentation, with retail spaces, professional offices, and a railroad station built into the complex.
The hotel was built in 1883 by businessman Oliver S. Kelly, replacing the former Whiteley, Fassler & Kelly Reaper Works on the site. The structure became a landmark until its later demolition in the late 20th century.
The building served as a gathering place for business travelers and local professionals who moved through its retail shops and office spaces. The interior arcade created a social hub where people could conduct business and socialize beneath its glass roof.
The building was located at the corner of Fountain Avenue and High Street, making it easy to find and access. Since this is a historic site that no longer exists, visitors can only view the location where it once stood.
The building was one of only eight such arcade structures ever built in Ohio during the 19th century. This rare design made it a distinctive attraction among similar buildings of its era.
