Cluett Peabody & Company, شركة
Cluett Peabody & Company is a factory building in Massachusetts built in the Colonial Revival style. It features symmetrical facades and brick construction typical of the industrial architecture of its era, and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The factory was built during the height of New England's textile industry, when the region supplied much of the country's clothing. The company behind it grew into one of the most recognized shirt manufacturers in the United States before the industry later declined.
The building carries the name of the company that once made Arrow-brand shirts and collars, a label that became part of everyday American life for generations. Walking past it today, you still get a sense of how large and central this kind of factory once was to a working town.
The building is best seen from the street, where the facade is clearly visible without needing to enter. Daytime visits work well since the brick details and overall form are easiest to read in natural light.
Arrow is still an active clothing brand today, even though production moved away from this building long ago. The Cluett Peabody name represents one of the rare cases where a factory building has outlasted the manufacturing activity that once defined it.
