Cost Sports Center, Indoor sports complex at University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US
Cost Sports Center is an indoor athletics facility at the University of Pittsburgh that can accommodate either a full American football field or nine tennis courts simultaneously. The structure rises 62 feet high and contains multiple changing areas along with direct connections to adjacent playing fields.
The facility opened in 1990 and took its name from Charles L. Cost, a former football running back at the university. It was built to expand the athletic program and provide modern training space for the campus community.
The center established the Demale Stanley Award for Courage, presented annually to honor football players who demonstrate exceptional determination and resilience.
The facility sits above the Tower View Parking garage with elevator access connecting directly to nearby athletic fields, making it easy to reach outdoor training areas. Several locker rooms are available inside for those using the space.
The center features an elevated walkway system designed for coaches and media to record and analyze training sessions from above. This suspended observation platform provides video footage and performance analysis from a perspective rarely found in typical sports facilities.
