Dimeling Hotel, Hotel in den Vereinigten Staaten
The Dimeling Hotel is a seven-story building in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, designed by the Beezer Brothers in 1904. It displays Renaissance Revival features with detailed stonework, large evenly-spaced windows, and decorative elements that make it stand out among the town's smaller structures.
The hotel was built in 1904 by the Beezer Brothers and was one of Clearfield's first major hotels. It ceased operating as a hotel in 1977, but was purchased for one dollar in 1998 and converted into the Dimeling Senior Residence by 1999.
The hotel takes its name from a local family with deep roots in Clearfield. Today it serves as housing for seniors who live within its original high-ceilinged rooms and wide corridors, keeping the building part of everyday community life.
The building sits centrally on North Second Street and is easily accessible on foot while exploring downtown. Although it no longer operates as a hotel, you can view its architectural details and imposing facade from the street.
The hotel featured a patented fireproof floor system designed by the Beezer Brothers, which was innovative for its time. This safety feature was especially important for tall buildings of that era and combined practical engineering with the building's decorative design.
