Cao Lanh Bridge, Cable-stayed bridge in Cao Lanh, Vietnam
Cao Lanh Bridge is a cable-stayed structure spanning the Mekong River with H-shaped towers supporting its deck. The bridge links the city center with a district on the opposite bank, carrying traffic across wide water.
Construction started in 2013 and the bridge opened in 2018, replacing an older ferry crossing that had served the area for about a century. This new route improved connections between the riverbanks significantly.
The bridge stands as a representation of Vietnamese infrastructure advancement, connecting the Cao Lanh city center with Lap Vo district in Dong Thap province.
The bridge has separate lanes for cars and motorcycles, allowing high traffic volumes throughout the day. Visitors can walk across or watch vehicles moving between the two banks at a steady pace.
The structure contains 128 cable bundles and employs an automated monitoring system at its peak to transmit safety data to the control center.
