Khu kinh tế cửa khẩu quốc tế Bờ Y, Special economic zone at Vietnam-Laos border, Vietnam
Bo Y International Border Gate Economic Zone is a large economic zone at the Vietnam-Laos border designed to support trade and manufacturing across multiple communes. It contains industrial parks, office sectors, storage facilities, and areas where natural forests remain for ecological activities.
The zone began as a trade point between countries and initially focused on importing timber. From 2015 onward, major development projects transformed and expanded the infrastructure to support broader economic activities.
The zone brings together Vietnamese and Laotian merchants and workers in a shared space where cross-border commerce happens naturally. Traders and families from border communities gather here daily to conduct business and build economic connections.
Visitors should know that different sections have separate access points, and the best time to explore varies by season. The main roads are well-developed, but exploring remote areas requires having your own transportation or arranging a guide beforehand.
The zone sits at a point where three countries meet, making it a key junction in a major regional trade corridor. This geographic position makes it valuable for businesses that want to work with multiple countries at the same time.
