Durbar Square, UNESCO World Heritage site in Kathmandu, Nepal
The square contains more than 50 temples, ancient statues, fountains, and the Hanuman Dhoka Palace Complex within its stone-paved grounds.
Construction of the site started in the 3rd century, with major additions during the Malla dynasty including the Jagannath Temple and Taleju Temple.
The Kumari Bahal temple houses the Kumari Devi, a young girl selected as the living embodiment of the Hindu mother goddess.
The entrance fee for international visitors is 1000 Nepalese Rupees, while local residents pay a reduced rate for access to the square.
The nine-story Nautale structure, built during the Shah Dynasty, contains intricate wooden carvings and stands as the tallest building in the square.
