National Library of Tajikistan

The National Library of Tajikistan is a large building in central Dushanbe with nine floors and multiple reading areas. The structure houses millions of books and documents available for browsing and study.

The institution was established in 1934 and initially named after a Persian poet. The current modern building opened in 2012 with expanded facilities.

The library maintains six million items, including works by Tajik authors and a collection of literature that documents the national literary development.

The library is located on Tehron Street in the city center and is easily accessible for local residents with valid identification. Plan to spend time exploring since the building is large and offers many areas to browse.

The National Library operates the Tajikistan National Electric Library, providing digital resources exclusively to users within the country.
