Vecihi Hürkuş Aviation Park, Aviation museum in Eskişehir, Turkey
Vecihi Hürkuş Aviation Park is an open-air aviation museum in Eskişehir displaying civil and military aircraft, flight gear, and engines from different periods. The collection shows how aircraft technology developed over time in Turkish aviation.
The museum was founded in 1997 from cooperation between the Governorship of Eskişehir Province and the Turkish Air Force 1st Tactical Air Force Command. It underwent major restoration and reopened in 2012 under the management of Anadolu University.
The park honors Vecihi Hürkuş, a pioneer of Turkish aviation, through its collection of aircraft spanning different eras. Visitors see how flight became central to the nation's development and identity.
The park is open daily except Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 AM to 5 PM, giving visitors full access to outdoor areas. A converted cargo aircraft serves as the on-site cafeteria for refreshments during your visit.
The museum preserves eleven retired military aircraft including fighters, reconnaissance planes, and cargo aircraft that document decades of aviation development. Each plane tells a different story from various periods of Turkish air force history.
