Buruciye Medresesi, Seljuk madrasa in Sivas, Turkey.
The Buruciye Medresesi features stone carvings on its entrance portal, four iwans surrounding an open courtyard, and walls constructed of ashlar masonry.
Built in 1271 during the reign of Seljuk Sultan Giyaseddin Keyhusrev III, the medrese served as an educational center for physics, chemistry, and astronomy studies.
The structure includes a prayer room with a mihrab, demonstrating the integration of religious and educational functions in medieval Islamic architecture.
Located in Kent Meydani square, the medrese offers daily Quran readings in its tomb area and provides complimentary tea to visitors.
The building contains architectural innovations, including a domed entrance section that deviates from traditional Seljuk construction patterns.
