Tashkent State Technical University is a technical higher education institution in Uzbekistan offering engineering and technology programs across seven faculties. The campus enrolls over 21,000 students in fields ranging from aerospace engineering and power systems to mechanical engineering, electronics, and business studies, supported by modern buildings and 15 scientific laboratories.
The university was established in 1920 as the technical division of Turkestan State University and evolved through several name changes over the decades. It was formally reorganized as TSTU in 1991 and subsequently renamed in 2017 to honor Islam Karimov, Uzbekistan's first president.
The campus is located on Universitet Street in Tashkent and is easily accessible by public transport including buses and metro. The institution provides housing in 13 dormitories equipped with a digital management system, making it convenient for students to arrange accommodation and navigate the campus facilities.
