Tomb of Muin Khalfa Baba, Islamic mausoleum in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The Tomb of Muin Khalfa Baba is a mausoleum in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, topped by a spherical dome resting on a cylindrical drum. A central square chamber connects to an adjoining iwan that forms the entrance to the building.
The mausoleum was built between 1883 and 1884 under the direction of Muin Khalfa Bobo, a skilled builder. Craftsmen from Samarkand carried out the work, bringing their traditional knowledge to the project.
Inside, two tombstones face the back wall, marking where Muin-buva and his son Umar-khan rest side by side. This shared burial shows how family members were honored together within the same sacred space.
The building is small and easy to see in just a few minutes. The interior is compact, so visiting at quieter times of day gives you more room to take in the details.
A 2007 renovation added decorative ganch plasterwork by master artisan Asrol Mukhtarov to the interior. This addition brought new artistic detail to the building without changing its original character.
