Tomb of Muin Khalfa Baba, Islamic mausoleum in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The Tomb of Muin Khalfa Baba is an Islamic mausoleum in Tashkent featuring a spherical dome resting on a cylindrical drum. The structure displays intricate brick patterns and traditional architectural details, with a central square chamber and an adjoining iwan leading to its entrance.
The mausoleum was built between 1883 and 1884 under the direction of Muin Khalfa Bobo, a skilled builder who oversaw the project. Craftsmen from Samarkand executed the construction, bringing their traditional knowledge to create this lasting memorial.
Inside, two tombstones face the back wall, marking where Muin-buva and his son Umar-khan rest side by side. The burial arrangement reflects how family members were honored together in the same sacred space.
The structure is quite small, making it easy to explore in just a few minutes during a visit. The cramped interior works best for small groups, so visiting during quieter times helps you appreciate the details without feeling crowded.
A 2007 renovation added decorative ganch work by master artisan Asrol Mukhtarov to the structure. This ornamental plasterwork brought renewed artistic detail to the historic building while keeping its original character intact.
