Belenski most, Deck arch bridge in Ruse Province, Bulgaria
The Belenski most extends 276 meters across the Yantra River, featuring 14 stone arches supported by 13 concrete props with protective cutwaters.
Built under the commission of Midhat Pasha between 1865 and 1867, the bridge underwent reconstruction in 1922 after a flood damaged eight central vaults.
The bridge displays the engineering methods of Bulgarian National Revival architecture through its limestone construction and decorative animal relief images.
Located one kilometer from Byala town, the structure now serves pedestrians while modern traffic flows through a parallel bridge 40 meters away.
Master builder Kolyu Ficheto constructed this bridge for 700 thousand groschen, substantially below competing bids that reached 3 million groschen.
