Central Conservatory of Music, music school in Beijing, China
The Central Conservatory of Music is a higher education institution for music training located in the Jinrongjie Subdistrict of Beijing. The campus includes classrooms, practice rooms, a large library holding over half a million music scores and books, and more than 500 pianos for instruction.
The institution was founded in 1950 to train talented musicians and music teachers. Since then, many renowned Chinese musicians, conductors, and composers have studied here, establishing it as a major center for music education in China.
The school brings together Chinese musical traditions with Western classical music in its teaching. Students experience both styles equally, from practice halls to concert performances, giving them a broad view of the music world.
Walking through the campus, you will notice a quiet, focused atmosphere where students move through halls with music scores and instruments. The facility is directly overseen by China's Ministry of Education, ensuring standardized programs and consistent teaching quality.
The school operates an electronic music studio with modern equipment and a workshop where violins are crafted and repaired. A recently acquired organ from Germany has been added for students and teachers to use in performances.
