Tin Shui Wai Hospital, hospital in Hong Kong
Tin Shui Wai Hospital is a modern medical facility in Hong Kong located in the growing residential area of Tin Shui Wai. The building with many windows offers a wide range of services, including round-the-clock emergency care, outpatient clinics, laboratories, X-ray and scan facilities, dialysis for kidney patients, and an on-site pharmacy.
Construction of the hospital began in 2013 and was completed after about three and a half years in 2016, opening in 2017. The decision to build came after residents' demonstrations in 2007 and 2008, when the community urgently requested local medical care.
The hospital is easy to reach using public transportation, including several bus lines such as 69M, 265B, 269C, and 621, as well as Light Rail line 705 from Chung Fu Station. The main entrance is clearly marked and visitor access is straightforward.
The project cost nearly 4 billion Hong Kong dollars and was a significant investment in local infrastructure. Opening in 2017 marked the end of a long community campaign for better medical care nearby.
