Approach Beach, Public beach in Tsuen Wan District, Hong Kong.
Approach Beach is a public beach in Tsuen Wan District that stretches along the shoreline with sandy beach. The water offers clear views of the Ting Kau Bridge and Tsing Ma Bridge towering above the harbor.
The beach opened in 1987 with support from the Hong Kong Jockey Club but had to close in 1995 due to bridge construction work. It reopened to visitors in 2011.
The beach serves as a community gathering spot where locals swim and organize regular barbecue celebrations. These leisure activities form an important part of everyday life in the district.
The area has sufficient facilities such as changing rooms, showers, toilets, bathing sheds, and designated barbecue pits spread throughout the location. This makes it easy to spend a full day by the water.
This is one of only two bathing spots in the district where people can swim in Victoria Harbour waters. The scarcity of swimming locations makes this place especially valuable for swimmers in the area.
