TT2, Ancient burial tomb in Deir el-Medina, Egypt.
The tomb comprises two chapels behind a large courtyard, with the southern chapel featuring decorated walls and life-size statues of Khabekhnet and his wife.
During the reign of Ramesses II in the 19th Dynasty, Khabekhnet, a Servant in the Place of Truth, constructed TT2 by expanding two earlier 18th Dynasty tombs.
The burial chamber displays monochrome decorations with yellow figures outlined in black or red against white backgrounds, depicting religious scenes and funerary practices.
Excavations in 1917 by Jacques Lecomte-Dunouy and subsequent research in the 1920s by Bernard Bruyère revealed fragments of burial equipment and mummification materials.
The tomb underwent modifications during different periods, serving as a double hermitage for Coptic monks in the Christian era after its initial use as a family burial site.
