TT38, Ancient tomb in Sheikh Abd el-Qurna necropolis at Thebes, Egypt.

TT38 is a tomb in the Sheikh Abd el-Qurna necropolis on Thebes' western bank, with walls filled with hieroglyphic texts and colorful painted scenes. The chamber displays skillful depictions of both private and professional aspects of the tomb owner's life.

The tomb was constructed during Egypt's New Kingdom period, an era of great power and artistic flourishing. It served as the burial place of Djeserkaraseneb, a man who held administrative responsibilities in the service of the god Amun.

The wall paintings show scenes of daily life and religious rituals considered important for the deceased. Visitors can see depictions of family, work, and offerings that reveal how ancient Egyptians imagined the afterlife.

Entry is via paved pathways through the necropolis, which is well-marked and easy to navigate. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as the area is exposed and hot.

The walls show detailed records of grain administration and storage management depicted in images. These scenes give visitors a rare glimpse into the practical economic systems that supported temple operations.
