Maadi Community Church, International church in Maadi, Egypt
Maadi Community Church is a faith gathering space in Maadi that shares the grounds of Saint John the Baptist Anglican Church on Port Said Street. The congregation uses an outdoor area covered by a tent canopy to hold regular services and programs throughout the week in English.
The congregation was established in 1947 to serve English-speaking expatriates, and later received official recognition from Egyptian authorities as Evangelical International Church in 2000. This foundation dates back to the period when many international residents began settling in the Maadi area.
People from more than 40 different countries and religious backgrounds gather here, creating a multilingual space where various Christian traditions meet. Visitors notice how the open-air setting under the tent helps foster a welcoming environment for both long-term residents and newcomers.
Services take place every Friday at 5:00 PM, with programs for children, youth, and adults available during the week. The location is accessible on Port Said Street and welcomes visitors from all backgrounds.
The congregation runs the African Hope Learning Center, which provides classes for refugee children, and operates a Prison Ministry serving individuals in Cairo correctional facilities. These efforts show how the community extends its work beyond regular worship.
