KV33, Ancient tomb in Valley of the Kings, Egypt

The KV33 tomb contains a stone sarcophagus and features a staircase leading to four smaller chambers surrounding the main burial area.

Victor Loret discovered this tomb during his 1898 excavation campaign, marking a new chapter in the exploration of ancient Egyptian burial sites.

The walls display the earliest known version of the Amduat, with Egyptian deities depicted in stick figure form on yellow backgrounds.

The tomb entrance requires visitors to descend ten carved stone steps before reaching the central chamber filled with archaeological remains.

Recent excavations by the University of Basel revealed pottery fragments and alabaster jars buried under 1.2 meters of accumulated debris.
