KV49, Ancient tomb in Valley of the Kings, Egypt

The tomb chamber extends 3.5 meters in length and contains a network of corridors leading to various underground rooms and passageways.

Discovered in 1906 by Edward R. Ayrton during excavations for Theodore M. Davis, KV49 dates back to the Eighteenth Dynasty of ancient Egypt.

The interior walls display hieratic graffiti documenting official visits and the delivery of royal linens during the reigns of Ramesses XI and Smendes I.

The tomb entrance requires careful navigation down a flight of stairs, leading to the first doorway and an extended sloping corridor.

Archaeological findings include limestone game boards and an ostracon naming Hay, who served as overseer of workmen in the Place of Truth.
