KV56, Archaeological tomb in Valley of the Kings, Egypt

The tomb contains a vertical shaft measuring 8 by 5.6 feet that extends 15 feet into the bedrock, leading to a single chamber.

Edward Ayrton discovered KV56 in January 1908 while conducting excavations under Theodore Davis, revealing numerous artifacts from the late Eighteenth Dynasty.

The tomb yielded substantial gold and silver jewelry, including earrings, rings, and bracelets bearing inscriptions of Seti II and Twosret.

Visitors need permits to access the Valley of the Kings, and guides recommend early morning visits to avoid intense desert temperatures.

The excavation uncovered rare silver gloves among the burial items, suggesting the tomb belonged to a person of considerable status.
