KV10, Ancient Egyptian tomb at Valley of the Kings, Egypt.

KV10 is a burial chamber carved into the limestone hillside of the valley, extending more than 100 meters with a series of descending corridors and rooms. The structure follows a typical Egyptian tomb design with progressively deeper chambers that penetrate into the mountain.

The tomb was initiated during the 19th Dynasty under Pharaoh Amenmesse, a New Kingdom ruler, and was later modified and used by other royal family members. This sequence of alterations reflects changes in burial practices across generations.

The burial chamber displays scenes depicting two royal women from the late 20th Dynasty, whose images and names are carved into the rock walls. These female figures held significance within the royal family, and their representations tell of their roles during this era.

The tomb is located in the Valley of the Kings on the west bank of the Nile near Luxor and is best explored through organized visits to the archaeological site. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as the passages can be narrow and the interior conditions require good preparation.

The structure was partly integrated into natural crevices and cavities of the hillside rather than excavated entirely from solid rock. This adaptation to existing geology shows how ancient builders worked with the site's natural conditions.
