Queyras Regional Natural Park

The park encompasses high mountain ranges, deep valleys, and numerous hiking trails stretching across an area rich in diverse alpine ecosystems.

Established on January 31, 1977, the park was created through community initiatives to protect natural environments from industrial development in the French Alps.

The stone chalets of Saint-Véran village, positioned at 2,042 meters altitude, display traditional architecture with their distinctive pastel facades and historical monuments.

Visitors access the park through neighboring towns, which provide accommodations, dining options, and information centers for year-round outdoor activities.

The park contains specific plant species from Caucasia, including Astragalus alopecurus, and supports a population of 2,500 chamois in its larch forests.
