Institute of Advanced Studies in Education, deemed university in Sardarshahr, Rajasthan
The Institute of Advanced Studies in Education is a government-recognized university in Sardarshahr, Rajasthan, founded in 1950 and offering courses from engineering to management and education. The campus features a large library with more than 41,000 books, smart classrooms with modern technology, research centers, accommodation for more than 2,000 students, and facilities including a sports ground, medical clinic, and meditation temple.
The university was founded in 1950 as a small school called Gandhi Vidya Mandir and was officially recognized as a Deemed University by the government in 2002. The foundation stone was laid in 1955 by President Rajendra Prasad after founder Shri Kanhaiyalal Dugar developed the idea of bringing knowledge to rural parts of India.
The campus brings together students from different regions of India, creating a mix of cultures and backgrounds. The university regularly celebrates national and cultural festivals like Hindi Diwas, Ram Navmi, and Rabindranath Tagore's birthday, which bring the campus community together and highlight India's rich traditions.

The institute was the first university of its kind in India to focus on rural education and was planned by founder Shri Kanhaiyalal Dugar with support from prominent leaders and thinkers. Its creation was closely linked to Wardha, where Dugar spoke with Gandhian leaders to develop the concept.
