Anji Khad Bridge

The Anji Khad Bridge stretches 473 meters across the Anji River, reaching a height of 196 meters from the riverbed to the track level.

The original arch bridge design from early planning phases was replaced with a cable-stayed configuration in 2016 due to geological constraints in the Himalayan region.

The bridge forms an essential component of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail connection, linking different communities across the Jammu and Kashmir territory.

Construction progress reached a milestone in August 2023 with successful trial runs, while 96 supporting cables ensure structural stability for train speeds up to 100 kilometers per hour.

The bridge incorporates structural health monitoring sensors throughout its span and features blast-proof construction elements to enhance safety in the mountainous environment.
